My Xbox stopped being able to see Playback, but my PS3 and iPhone servers were working fine. The reason that I am writing this review now is that I had a small issue when upgrading to the most recent version (1.8.14). This is soo easy to use and I use it almost on a daily basis to watch movies and tv shows from my computer.

I have a Mac Pro 2009 with about 4 TB of media stored and an Xbox 360 and PS3 and iPhone 4S that I watch media on. It is the only app of it's kind worth buying, and trust me I have tried them all. I am a longtime user (3+ years) of Playback. Other than these features, which suit me, I'd like to know from other users what are the main advantages of paying for this rather than using say, Plex, which is completely free? This greatly speeds up selection of music through the PS3 menu bar. I also like the way that searching through my massive iTunes library by artist always goes to a list of the alphabet to select for the first letter of the artist name first, rather than just displaying a complete list of all artists in the library. This is something that is not possible if using MediaLink or PS3 Media Server or if you simply connect an external hard drive to the PS3. It can also play media files that are linked through aliases and it can even allow the PS3 to access folders through aliases too.

Most importantly, Playback seems to be incredibly fast at delivering media to the PS3 and allows the PS3 to scan through movie files very quickly. Playback allows you to share your media with any Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or other UPnP compatible device.
